　　《使女的故事》续集要出新书？剧情电视很不一样！Margaret Atwood has written a sequel to The Handmaids Tale.玛格丽特•阿特伍德完成了《使女的故事》续集。

　　Titled The Testaments, the book will be published next year, more than 30 years after the original was released in 1985. Atwood confirmed the news on T, revealing it will be available to purchase in September 2019.书名叫做《Testaments》，将于明年出版，距上一次1985年版本已隔30年。阿特伍德也在推特上确认了该消息，说将于2019年9月上市。

　　Instead of charting the events seen in the Elisabeth Moss-starring TV adaptation (the second season of which continues past the original novel), the follow-up will be set 15 years after the final scene in Atwoods book and told from the perspective of three female characters. Its currently unknown whether one of these will be Offred.不同于由伊丽莎白·莫斯主演的电视版本所讲的故事（第二季维持了原著情节），这本书将把时间设定在剧版的15年后，以三位女性的角度讲述故事，目前还不知道三位中会不会有电视中的主角Offred。

　　Atwood shared her intentions behind a new Handmaids Tale novel in a statement, saying it has been inspired by “the world weve been living in” in recent years.阿特伍德分享了新版《使女的故事》小说背后的写作意图，说灵感来源于当代“我们生活着的世界”。

　　“Everything youve ever asked me about Gilead and its inner workings is the inspiration for this book. Well, almost everything! The other inspiration is the world weve been living in,” Atwood said.“任何关于基列共和国和相关作品都是这本书的灵感，其他灵感来源于我们生活着的当代世界。”

　　Speculation of a follow-up was rife after Atwood released an audiobook of The Handmaids Tale which came accompanied with a special extended version of the epilogue in which a professor tells a crowd many years after the books events: “I hope to be able to present the results of our further Gileadian investigations to you at some future date.” 阿特伍德发布有声书时同步发布了加长版后记，在后记中，一位教授告诉人们：“我希望未来能为大家呈现基列共和国的调查结果。”由此，续集的猜测此起彼伏。
